One day, a journalist from the Guide du Routard described the Lincelé family collection in these terms: “Some people collect key rings or beer coasters. The Lincelé family began collecting objects that were much more bulky: lavender stills….
Beautiful collection, therefore, of red copper stills from 1626 to the present day, recovered, for the most part in the Alpes de Haute Provence. In front of each still, explanatory panels show you all the techniques for distilling lavender: with open fire, in a bain-marie, with steam, with concrete (there are only two concrete stills left in the world, including this one) , etc. ".
The Museum owes this magnificent collection of lavender stills to the founder of the Museum, Georges Lincelé. For thirty years he traveled the lavender-producing region to unearth exceptional pieces which, brought together with stills from the family heritage, constitute an ambitious and unique collection in the world!
